Is Tesla getting left behind in the electric vehicle race?
Tesla is coming under increasing pressure from rival electric vehicle manufacturers. Could this mean that its popular status among investors is set to decline?
News that Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), the star constituent of our Mega Trends portfolio, will join the S&P 500 Index on 21 December, having met the criteria of four consecutive quarterly profits (it actually achieved five), is giving the shares another boost as index funds are forced to acquire shares. However, several small electric vehicle (EV) makers have stolen the limelight over recent months, a trend that could be set to continue.
