Tech giants take a battering - time to buy?
Results from the US technology giants initially brought a sharp sell-off in the share prices of several. So is the party over for these market leaders and should investors be looking elsewhere for super-charged investment returns? Our update here cuts through the hype and looks at the facts.
This time last year investors were having to cough up $3000 for one share in Amazon (US: AMZN). In June, the company issued a 20-for-1 stock split and shortly afterwards, US investment magazine Barron’s ran this article on its cover:
The article claimed that, “for investors, it’s time to refocus—Amazon shares have never looked more attractive.”
The issue hasn’t aged well.
