Lessons from a rapid sell-off
Like the rest of the global stock market, our Ultimate Stocks took a battering on Monday. By the end of the day, the portfolio was down 13.8% in the year to date as all 25 of our picks slipped into the red.
It’s not a dire performance in the context of the wider markets. The absence of any oil and gas stocks in our portfolio means we were sheltered from the worst of Monday’s fall and the portfolio has outperformed the S&P500 and FTSE All Share in the year to date (down 16% and 22% respectively).
