Corporate earnings season has kicked off in the US and, to a lesser extent in the UK. That’s given us plenty of options for winner and loser of the week.


We can’t always trust the outlook statements of companies we invest in, or the accounts of why things go wrong. Some of the financial results released in this first busy week of corporate earnings season show that all too clearly.
