Market information site ADVFN has millions of registered users but has struggled to make consistent profits since listing more than 20 year ago. Are things about to change?


ADVFN: on the cusp of decent profits, at last?

Interim results from market information site ADVFN (LON:AFN) offered significantly more encouragement than we have seen for a while. With over 4 million registered users we struggle to understand how this business can't make decent profits.

Revenue in the 6 months to 31 December rose 13% to £4.2m and it managed to squeeze a profit of £264k, a distinct improvement on the comparable period’s loss of £399k.
