Growing evidence that the western world is turning vegan is forcing food producers to invest in new products. Those which aren’t committing to a meat-free future are being left behind. But is veganism a trend that is here to stay? And are the plant-pioneers worthy of their exorbitant valuations? Our latest ESG article attempts to answer those questions.


It takes ten kilograms of vegetables to grow every one kilogram of cow. Add in the need for water, a field to graze in, and the fact that these cows produce copious amounts of methane and it’s hardly surprising that experts have estimated that a plant-based diet is 100 times better for the environment than one which includes beef.

That is one of the reasons why there are now 360,000 so-called ‘lifestyle’ vegans in the UK…
