It was great to see some new admissions to AIM in October operating in fast-growing sectors, although they are admittedly very early-stage companies. The month also saw AIM lose one of its largest companies, which succumbed to yet another takeover. Read on here for our introduction to the newcomers and thoughts on AIM in October.


With the Budget just before the month end offering a degree of assurance around AIM’s tax reliefs, London’s growth market staged a small recovery in the period, finishing October down 0.5% after climbing over 4% on Budget day. The uncertainty surrounding potential tax changes beforehand brought plenty of selling and weakness throughout the month, with the volume of shares traded 24% up September.
