Utilitywise - is this Woodford pick reaching the end of the line?
News that founder of utility cost management consultancy business Utilitywise has now sold out entirely, despite the moribund share price, has set alarm bells ringing. We question whether this Woodford Investment Management stock can last much longer!
Geoff Thompson, founder, former Chief Executive, and up until recently the holder of a 6% equity stake, sold the last of his Utilitywise (AIM: UTW) holdings this week. Surely that sent alarm bells ringing for the company’s biggest shareholder Woodford Investment Management, which holds 30% of the beleaguered company. It’s been a tumultuous period for any Utilitywise investor. The group was admitted to AIM in June 2012 at a share price of 60p and market capitalisation of £36.9m.
