Here’s our run-through of some of the biggest business stories of the week, focusing on a flurry of results from many British small and mid-caps. We’ve also had some interesting housebuilder updates and another week of political turmoil.
We’re knee deep in small and mid-cap results season, with 79 UK listed companies releasing numbers this week, with various degrees of success. Gamma Communications (LON: GAMA) justified the major share price growth of the year to date with a better than expected set of results. Demand for its cloud-hosted communications services is growing faster than any other product which sent gross margins up to a whopping 49%. Margins are also incredibly impressive at foreign exchange specialists Alpha FX (LON: AFX), touching 40% in the six months to June.
