With recent allowances granted on UK holidaying, the Investor happily wanders the streets of a seaside village with a chocolate ice-cream in hand (the taste of which has a hint of hand sanitiser). It’s a welcome change from zoom meetings at home, but the place is noticeably transformed by COVID-19 and the Investor cannot help but wonder how such places are impacting the stock market.
While paying for the ice-cream from an independent cafe the Investor is reminded of this week's "Bonkers Bargain": 1pm (LON:OPM). This AIM listed finance company lends to small UK businesses such as the ice-cream shop. In fact the seaside high street is filled with SMEs and the Investor smiles at the huge market opportunity. During those first delicious licks the Investor passes the cinema. Its doors have been closed since March and major films, such as the latest James Bond, have been forced to delay their UK release until November.
