The series reveals the highs and lows of managing 300 acres in the Cotswolds, including tales of tractoring, sheeping and pan(dem)icking. For a start, Clarkson’s Farm teaches us to listen to the voice of doom. Clarkson’s Chief Farming Advisor ‘Cheerful Charlie’ is just as miserable as you would expect a professional agronomist to be. He punctuates all of Clarkson’s premature celebrations with a savage realism: ‘This is too expensive’, ‘Those won’t last’, ‘That’s illegal’.
