Why I love Wetherspoons as an investment and an eatery
After an excellent dining experience at a local Wetherspoons, I read the recent financial results with interest. The company is clearly battling the traditional thorn of the hospitality industry – staff wages – but its attitude to spending is far healthier than many of its peers. I like what I see.
I recently enjoyed a fantastic meal out at Wetherspoons (LON: JDW). I’ll paint the full picture. It’s a Thursday evening and Rickmansworth High Street is almost empty, but the local Prezzo is apparently full (there are plenty of free tables but clearly not enough staff to serve them). We are looking for a cheap pizza and some beer and are enticed into Wetherspoons by a sign on the door which will give us both delicacies for a mere £6.95 – winning.
