WH Smith: results in-line but remains unloved WH Smith (SMWH), which now call itself “the global travel retailer”, reported 28% growth in revenue to £1.79 billion for its financial year to 31 August. Total travel revenue rose 43% to £1.32 billion and was 27% higher on a like for like basis, while High Street revenue declined 1% to £469m. Headline profit before tax and non-underlying items climbed 96% to £143m, a margin of 8%. Within this, Travel trading profit was £164m (2022: £89m) and High Street trading profit £32m (2022: £33m).
