Novacyt: development of tests for new strains of Covid-19!Novacyt (LON: NCYT), the clinical diagnostics specialists whose shares have risen more than 7,000% in 2020, has announced the launch of research-use-only PCR tests for a new strain of Covid-19 and the development of two new PCR tests for avian influenza following recent outbreaks across Europe. Originally found in mink in Denmark and The Netherlands, the new strain of Covid-19 quickly spread to humans and has also been detected outside Europe. The mutation is of potential concern to scientists and clinicians as it causes an amino acid change which affects antibody binding.…
