Chapel Down - hard to see how this represents a sensible long term investment
Chapel Down. the English fine wine producer has announced a record harvest has been completed for 2013. The news, while clearly positive, also highlights the longer term investment concerns
The harvest has exceeded expectations and following two lean years enables the small group to increase production so that “we can start to meet demand over the next few years.”
The CEO goes on how “It has been frustrating to win so many accolades for our wines in 2013, and yet have to disappoint so many customers through a lack of stock.”
An inability to meet demand seems to put a question mark over the whole business model - no wonder they are seeking to expand with other beverages!
