It’s easy to dismiss the returns available on AIM. Journalists and sceptics often do, citing the meagre returns of the AIM All Share over the course of its history when compared to its bigger brother the UK main market and its even larger cousin across the pond, the Nasdaq. And 2021 was a year of plenty for these sceptics: while the FTSE shrugged off an early year blip to end up more than 10%, AIM was flat.
